Romanian Prime Minister cycles to work
Romanian Prime Minister Calin Popescu-Tariceanu rode a bike to work on Thursday, the Environment Day. It took only a quarter of an hour for the premier to ride from his home to Victoria Governmental Palace.
“You can go faster by bike than by car. Many people should consider this way of traveling,” said Tariceanu, quoted by the official Rompress news agency.
According to Rompress, the prime minister asked cabinet members on Wednesday how they would go to work on Thursday.
The government’s General Secretary Gabriel Berca, Defense Minister Teodor Melescanu, and Interior Minister Cristian David said they would walk to their offices on Thursday.
